Master Phan Minh Dat, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Fintech - Blockchain competition at HUFLIT, pointed out a noteworthy reality: Fintech - Blockchain is a sector with strong demand for human resources, yet few universities currently offer training in this field.
According to data from fintech companies, the demand for professionals with knowledge of blockchain and fintech has been increasing sharply in recent years. However, the supply of high-quality talent remains limited, as there are still few formal training programs in these areas at Vietnamese universities.
“We hope the competition will serve as a foundation for students to gain knowledge and develop the skills needed for their careers,” Mr. Dat shared. This motivation led the Faculty of Economics and Finance at HUFLIT to organize the competition to help bridge the training gap in Fintech - Blockchain human resources.
The competition not only helps students grasp theoretical knowledge but also develop important practical skills. Participants are required to study real blockchain projects, analyze whitepapers, evaluate tokenomics, research markets, and propose strategic recommendations.
These are precisely the skills fintech companies are seeking in potential candidates. Instead of focusing solely on theory, students in the competition had the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world analysis and problem-solving.
Mr. Truong Gia Bao, Chairman of DTS and Vice Chairman of VFCA, also emphasized the importance of Fintech - Blockchain workforce training. He noted that as Vietnam takes a leading role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, developing high-quality human resources in this field is essential.
Many students who participated in the competition received job or internship offers from fintech companies after demonstrating their abilities. This shows that the competition is not only an academic activity but also a bridge connecting students with the job market.
According to the Faculty of Economics and Finance at HUFLIT, in addition to organizing the competition annually, the faculty is also developing specialized courses on Fintech and Blockchain to include in the formal curriculum. This will enable students to gain more systematic and in-depth knowledge of these highly promising fields.
