One of the key highlights of the “Fintech - Blockchain 2023” competition’s final round was the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Economics and Finance of HUFLIT and the Faculty of Accounting and Finance of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade. This marked an important step toward expanding the scale and enhancing the quality of the competition in the coming years.
Under the agreement, the two universities will jointly organize the Fintech - Blockchain Competition at an inter-university level, creating opportunities for students from different institutions to participate, exchange knowledge, and learn from one another. This initiative not only increases the competitiveness of the competition but also fosters a larger community of students passionate about Fintech and Blockchain in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to M.A. Phan Minh Dat, “Expanding the competition to an inter-university scale is a necessary step. We’ve seen strong interest from students at other universities who previously had no opportunity to participate. This collaboration will allow us to build a larger, higher-quality academic platform for all students.”
As planned, the third season of the Fintech - Blockchain Competition is expected to take place in 2024, with participation from at least 3–4 universities in Ho Chi Minh City. The organizing committee is also actively reaching out to other institutions, such as the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Banking University Ho Chi Minh City, to expand its collaboration network.
A representative from the Faculty of Accounting and Finance at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade shared: “We are delighted to collaborate with HUFLIT in organizing this competition. Fintech and Blockchain are areas that our students are deeply interested in, and such a high-quality competition provides great motivation for them to study and conduct research.”
The inter-university cooperation extends beyond the competition itself, paving the way for joint workshops, student exchange programs, and collaborative research projects on Fintech and Blockchain. This partnership lays a strong foundation for building a sustainable Fintech - Blockchain education ecosystem in Vietnam.
With sponsorship and support from FUNDGO Foundation, ONUS, Openlive NFT, UFIN, Run Together, Moniwar, and Goinbe, along with the endorsement of The Vietnam Financial Consulting Association (VFCA) and the The Digital Asset Management Center (TSS), the Fintech - Blockchain Competition is poised to become one of Vietnam’s most significant annual events for students passionate about financial technology.
