During the final round of the second season of the Fintech - Blockchain competition, an important milestone took place: representatives from HUFLIT’s Faculty of Economics and Finance and HUIT’s Faculty of Accounting and Finance signed an agreement to jointly organize an inter-university competition.

This marks a significant step forward in expanding the scale and impact of the competition among students in Ho Chi Minh City. The cooperation agreement signifies the transformation of the event from HUFLIT’s internal competition into an inter-university competition with broader influence.

According to the agreement, the two universities will jointly organize future seasons of the Fintech - Blockchain competition for students from both institutions. This collaboration will not only increase the number of participants but also enhance the competition’s quality through healthy academic rivalry among students from different universities.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) is a reputable institution, especially known for its strong programs in economics, accounting, and finance. Its participation brings new and diverse perspectives on the applications of Fintech and Blockchain across various sectors.

Master Phan Minh Dat, Head of the Organizing Committee, shared that this is only the first step in expanding the competition. The committee is already reaching out to other universities in Ho Chi Minh City to invite them to participate in upcoming seasons.

“We aim to create a high-quality academic platform on Fintech - Blockchain for all students in Ho Chi Minh City. This is not just a competition but also an opportunity for young people to exchange knowledge, learn from each other, and connect with industry experts,” Mr. Dat said.

The inter-university format is also expected to attract greater attention from businesses and organizations in the Fintech - Blockchain sector. They can participate as sponsors, professional partners, or recruitment partners, offering more opportunities for students.

Mr. Truong Gia Bao, Chairman of DTS and Vice Chairman of VFCA, highly appreciated this initiative. He stated that collaboration among universities in organizing such competitions will create a strong ripple effect, promoting the study and research of Fintech - Blockchain among students.

According to the plan, the first inter-university competition will be held in 2024, with at least two universities participating. The organizing committee expects 500–700 students to register, doubling the number from the second season.

Many students from other universities have expressed excitement about the upcoming inter-university competition, saying it is a valuable opportunity to challenge themselves, learn, and connect with peers who share the same passion for financial technology and blockchain.
